Question: my Gabapentin went out of date on 7/4/2017. Is it still safe to take that old and effective? Thanks

Hello and thank you for your question. Hope I can be of help for you today. Normally the effect of the medicine stays good from expiration date typically 2 to 3 years. Gabapentin is an anticonvulsant that works directly on nerves. Gabapentin expired date most likely, it just won't work. You can never be fully sure of safety or effectiveness once expired. The advice is to not take expired gabapentin medication. If you are in need of another prescription, please talk to your doctor.
