Is Less Sleeping Time In A 45 Days Old Infant Normal?

Question: my son is 1.5 months old. frequency of his sleeping time is less compared to other babies. say like if he sleeps for two hrs, will stay awake for almost 3 to 4 hrs. is it normal? please advice

I Can understand your concerns.

Every baby is different from others so first thing is that the baby should not be compared with other babies.

45 day old baby usually sleeps for 2 to 3 hours and then takes feed and again sleeps.

From this,Some points that we have to note-
Whether child is getting enough feed as it is seen that babies who are not adequately feed tends to sleep less.

Normal time of feeding is 20 to 25 minutes each time mother breastfeeds the baby.

Second thing that we have to look for is whether child is getting awake due to wet bed region. It is advisable to use diapers because it soaks urine and baby does not wake up.
