Is Ligament Surgery Advisable While Having An Infection?

Question: hi Dr XXXXXXX thank you for the feedback. the other thing I am worried about is why does he want to leave the ligament and only do it after a few months, does that not mean he has to re-open the wound again.
Brief Answer:
Yes. But infection can cause surgical failure
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX, Welcome back,
Yes, the wound will have to be opened again but the issue is that any surgery done in a setting of infection can be bound to fail.
This is why, once the infection is completely treated, the ligament surgery has less risk to fail due to infection.
Regards.
