Is Lingering Discomfort Normal After Starting Antibiotics For Group C Strep Throat Infection?

Question: About eight days ago, I developed a sore throat. It hurt to swallow, and I felt my lymph nodes swollen, making it uncomfortable to move my head too far in either direction. I went to a clinic and had a strep test. It was negative. They sent a second test out, which was positive, showing scant growth of “group C” strep. I was put on 875 mg amoxicillin, twice daily, for ten days. Today was my third day. Generally I feel better, but I still have symptoms, although somewhat mild. No fever or congestion.
It does feel uncomfortable (lymph nodes) when I bear down or cough.
Is this typical? Anything else I should be doing? I’d like to feel somewhat comforted that this isn’t something more serious.
