Brief Answer:
not safe to use in long term.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HCM.

Megapose plus has flupentixol and melitracen.

This combination has been banned worldwide due to reports of serious neurological side effects.

I wonder that you are still able to get these tablets in market.

I would not advise you to take these tablets for long due to risk of side effects.

The better and safer antidepressants are escitalopram or sertraline (prescription drugs). Its better to switch to these drugs.

Kindly discuss this with your doctor.

Hope this helps.
Take care.
Regards.

Thanks you very much Doctor.

Can I stop taking Megapose Plus immediately or by reducing doses for some time?

Please prescribe substitute safer tablet of escitalopram or sertraline salts and advise how it may be taken.

Brief Answer:
can stop megapose immediately.

Detailed Answer:
You are most welcome.

Yes, you can stop megapose plus immediately. There is no need of tapering.

I usually start with 10mg escitalopram in my patients every morning after breakfast.

It takes 1-2 weeks to show its effects and can cause nausea, gastric upset for initial 4&5 days in some cases, which resolve on their own.

Dose can be increased or decreased depending on response, with time.

Unfortunately this platform does not allow us to write prescription. I would request you to consult a psychiatrist in your area for a valid prescription.

Hope this helps.
Take care.
