Is Loss Of Normal Cervical Lordosis In A Radiology Report A Serious Concern?
Question: I had spine surgery on June= spinal fusion of c4,5 and 6,7. A radiology report came back. with " loss of normal cervical lordosis". What does this mean and is it worrisome.?
Brief Answer:
Not really a worrisome situation
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Cervical lordosis is a normal curve in the region of cervical spine present in healthy individuals. Spinal fusion of C4,5,6,7 segments will obviously cause loss of this curve.
This isn't really a worrisome situation. Spinal fusion will cause loss of few movements to some degree at the cervical spine.
Hope I have answered your query.
Thank you
