Question: Hi, sir,
My 3-year old son is diagnosed with lymphocytosis with 73.6 where the normal should be between 20-40 i believe. Is it completely curable? What will be the treatment duration? Please give me a reply.

Brief Answer:
He may have some infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Your son may have infection. Lymphocytosis is very common in children. So no need to worry about that. 20 to 40 is the limit for adult. Children have some what higher lymphocytes count. He may have some viral infection or some upper respiratory tract infection. So his lymphocytes count is high. If total count is normal or slightly high then no need to worry. Just complete the course of treatment. He will be normal within 1 or 2 weeks. You should go for repeat lymphocytes count after 3 to 4 week.
No need to worry. Just be relaxed.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then feel free to ask me.

Dear Doctor,
Have gone through your reply and i'm confident now. I want to get one thing clarified,i.e, our doctor who has gone through the diagnosis report of my son has told us that the counts of Polymorphs and Limphocytes are just interchanged and so it should be treated at the earliest before it's going to be a risky one. My son has been falling sick very often on cold, flu, digestion problem and loss of apetite since his birth and we are told by our doctor that these all are due to his low body resistance (immune system). My worry is, can we improve my son's immune system through medication? How long will it take for that? I request you to clarify my doubts.

Brief Answer:
Medicine will only treat your infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Your son has low immunity and he is prone to infection. Your treatment will help to clear infection. It will not improve immunity. Immunity can be strengthen by proper diet and vaccination. You should give him all the vaccine according to his age.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic.

Dear Doctor,
Could you please suggest a few good foods that must be added to the diet of my son and foods to be avoided in his diet, please? It will really be helpful for us to cope with the treatment so as to improve his health, sir. My son likes to have fish and meat. I solicit your kind reply in this regard.

High protein diet is useful. Fish and meat is good choice. High fat diet should be avoided. He should go for vaccination to improve the immunity. Avoid any junk food. Plenty of water is also useful. Plenty of green leafy vegetables and fruits really help in boosting the immunity.
