Question: In short: Can I get pregnant on a missed period?

Detailed:
I am late for my period (14 days late-visited the doctor, and I am NOT pregnant and have a normal blood test lab result). My doctor says my period will come when it comes, and I might just be skipping a period. That's fine, but my question is, can I still get pregnant now?

You cannot get pregnant only on a missed period.

Hi,

I read your query and I understand your concerns about pregnancy possibility on a missed period.

Following is my reply:

1. Since you are 14 days late, it should have definitely showed in blood test called serum beta hCG.

2. If you have got this test done and is negative means there is no possibility of pregnancy.

3. This delay in period could be to various reasons like stress, examinations, family issues, work place problems or change of place.

4. In this missed periods, you cannot get pregnant as already ovulation time is over. You will get your period anytime now.

5. Wait for another week and you might get your periods. You cannot get pregnant in this cycle.
