I am MD pharmacology and I will address your concern.
Alcohol is a chemical. On ingestion it can have short and long term effects on body and mind.
In the presence of any health condition like cirrhosis of liver, tendency for addictions, etc, it should be totally avoided.
Moderate consumption <60 ml weekly is not considered good for organs like liver and brain. It may cause an addiction in future. It may have some benefit in preventing stress induced heart attacks. Otherwise no specific benefit.
In my opinion it can avoided, in general.
Hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
