Brief Answer:
Send me more pictures; appears Molluscum

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.

I can understand your concern for the lesion you have mailed in the picture.

I can make out from the picture that there is "Molluscum contagiosum" of the area. You can see a central pit kind of appearance in the affected area. It is viral infection of the area by molluscum contagiosum virus.

Though you have not given the details of the affected area but I can make out that the area is probably of pubic or lower abdominal region.

Do give me details of the problem along with more pictures so that I can help you best in your condition. Tell me any history of unprotected sex in last few weeks.

thank you for your reply. I am in a committed relationship and we are attempting to have a baby right now. so we have had quite a bit of unprotected sex. the bump does not hurt nor does it itch. I had a herpes test in July after having unprotected sex 30 days prior. it was an IgG test and the result was <0.2. my nail caught the larger of the bumps and it bled. it's causing me quit a bit of concern. it is higher on my body toward the abdomen also my partner was tested for everything a month ago and negative for all.

Brief Answer:
Molluscum contagiosum; Not Herpes

Detailed Answer:
Hello young lady,

Thanks a lot for your prompt follow up and sending more pictures.

Let me first and foremost relax you that the eruptions are not at all related to herpes and therefore you need not to be worried about the same.

There is no relation of molluscum contagiosum with herpes. In herpes we find multiple vesicles which are painful and forms ulcers which are closely placed.

SO you can see that these are neither vesicles nor ulcers and not painful too.

For the molluscum also it bled just because of your scratching. It is very simple infection and can be treated very easily. It needs cauterization under expert direction by radio-frequency or can be removed by an extractor too. For the above you can meet a dermatologist.

Do not pinch, pop or scratch the area. Keep the area dry and wear cotton socks. Change the undergarments two time a day. Do not get exposed to extremes of environment and protect yourself from further infection. Just check for any similar tiny eruptions in your partner.

I hope these informations will relax you. I will be glad to guide you any further.
