
Is Negative P24 Antigen HIV Test After 5 Weeks Of Exposure Conclusive?

Question: Hi i had p 24 antigen test aftet 5 weeks of a exposure to prostitute with condom but in last minute it is slipped and immediately removed from vagina it is negative and pcr dna hiv test after 25 days. Please advise is it accurate . Pcr herpes and pcr vrdl is also negative but had urine infection now please advis i am in tense . Now it is 9 weeks completed is it any other test i can do for confirmation please advise.

P24 Antigen test and HIV PCR after 5 weeks and 25 days are very much conclusive. These tests ruled out the possibility of HIV 1 infection. HIV 1 infection is common up to 99.5%. HIV 2 is very very rare and less than 0.5%. If you want to rule out HIV 2 also, you can go for Rapid test or Elisa after 12 weeks
Slip of the condom did not have any extra risk for HIV.
