Brief Answer:
With DNA tests, chances of false negativity is less

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Health Care Magic.
I appreciate your concern for the possibility of false negative tests for hepes infection.

The serum herpes simplex antibodies test determines whether you have antibodies to HSV and also to know whether you are infected with the herpes simplex virus (HSV)

HSV-1 most often causes cold sores (oral herpes) and HSV-2 causes genital herpes. The routine tests detect the antibodies to both the types of viruses.

With new DNA tests like Nucleic Acid Amplification Testing which are fast, accurate, and can tell if a person has HSV-1 or HSV-2.
There is less chance of a false negative result with NAATs.
Along with PCR, these are the most-widely used sensitive tests for the detection of Herpes simplex infection.

Hope this answers your query.
