Is Noticeable Sediment In My Urine When Diagnosed With Anemia A Concern?

default
Posted on Thu, 11 Feb 2021
Question: I have been having some sediment in my urine since last week. Sometimes, it is barely visible, while other times, it is very obviously there. When I first noticed it, I had a little (not much) pain in my bladder. That has gone away, but the sediment remains. I took an at-home UTI test to see if it was a UTI, but it came back negative. However, I take 1000 mg of vitamin C every morning (doctor's orders; I have iron deficiency, so I take it with iron), so I don't know if the results are valid. I know I ought to go to the doctor, but I can't stop taking the vitamin C because I'm so extremely iron deficient. If I don't stop taking the vitamin C, though, I figure the doctor can't do anything. What should I do?

Brief Answer:
Get your routine urine test and urine culture done in laboratory.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for query .

Based on the facts that you have posted sediment in urine that you have observed occasionally can be due to presence of phosphates in urine .

Sedimentation in urine can also occur if urine is concentrated due to reduced water intake It has no significance if one does not have any urinary symptoms like burning ,frequency etc .

Get your routine urine test and urine culture done to rule out UTI in laboratory .

Ensure to drink more water to keep your urine alkaline .

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
