Question: Hello Doctor

My mother was covid positive on Apr 2021 and again she was tested positive on XXXXXXX last week 2022.

I got CT scan done on Aug 2021 post recovery and here was the findings.

Fat density lesion on right diaphragmatic surface measuring 42mm (4.5x3 cms)

Now again I got the CT yesterday and here are the findings

Lesion / hump abutting right hemidiagram with fat density measuring 32x28mm.

Small calcificated granuloma in right lower lobe.
Yesterday i also got her 2D echo yesty done and here are the findings.

Grade 1 diastolic dysfunction

She complains on pain on the right lung says it's heavy when compared with left lung.

She also complain that she has chest pain, during 2d echo when specialist placed the apparatus on her chest she complained about pain in chest.

She also complains about breathless when she perform any activity.

Now my question is:

1. Is oxygen supply getting reduced to organs has we have fat density of around 32mm stuck in her right diaphragmatic surface.

2. Because of this fat lesion stuck did in right diaphragmatic did it caused grade 1 diastolic dysfunction in her heart ?

3. If answer is yes to both , what is next course of action.

Brief Answer:
Answer to both your questions is NO.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I can understand your concern.
I have gone through the reports you have attached.
No need to worry for that fat.
It is reducing and it will gradually disappear.
And this fat can not cause low oxygen supply or diastolic dysfunction.
So answer to both your questions is NO.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your mother.
Thanks.

Hello Doctor,

I came across this on YouTube.

Please review.

So brochcoscopy is not required to remove the fat lesion or calcification.

Any particular reason why this fat lesion occured in first place.

In which cases does a patient qualifies for a brochcoscopy.

Will she need to avoid certain foods or have particular diet inorder to stop the fat lesion from growing further.

Bit worried...here , as its 32mm and stuck , will there be any long term consequences if we mantain status quo. Not sure if will reduce or grow in size and become cancerous in future.

Brief Answer:
Bronchoscopy will not be useful at all.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Bronchoscopy is endoscopic examination of lungs. So basically bronchoscopy is indicated in any pathology involving airways and lung tissue. This fat tissue is on diaphragm, outside lungs. So bronchoscopy is not at all useful, not at all indicated.
No particular reason for fat accumulation.
Try to avoid oily and spicy food. Avoid junk food. Do regular exercise like walking especially after dinner. Avoid heavy meals.
No need to worry for cancer also.
