Is Pain In Upper Abdomen And Under The Rib Cage A Concern?

Question: I have a slight pain in my upper abdomen under the rib cage... Its not horrible but I notice it.. I don't have any other symptoms of anything and feel good for the most part but do I need to worry about a liver issue? Im 30 and through my 20s i definitely drank more than I should have i'm sure but the last year or two have kept it to once or twice a week. I guess it could be just muscle pain but I can't hardly tell. I don't recall doing anything to strain it. I guess my question is would a liver issue really cause this or would it have other symptoms or be more severe?
Brief Answer:
Get GGT and Ultrasound abdomen done.

Hi
Thanks for the question
It is commendable that you recognize drinking issues and have cut down. I dont really think that there should be any issues with your liver. Alcoholic liver damage should not cause such symptoms. But the only simplest way to know that is by getting a blood test called GGT done as well as an Ultrasound which would show a Fatty liver if damage to liver has started.
Though I do not feel it would be there but no harm in getting the tests done.
Take care and do let me know if there are other queries on this issue.
I would look forward to seeing your reports to guide you further.
