Is Painful Brown Lump In Throat A Sign Of Tonsillitis?
Question: Hello I have a lump on the top/back of my throat that gets very painful around dinnertime everyday. Strange right? So today I noticed at lunch I felt a lump when I swallowed as well, so I took the end of a fork and moved my uvula to see behind it and I saw a brownish area that could be bumpy (looks to have texture) and am wondering what the heck is going on?!?! Is the brownish area behind the uvula normal?
Thank you,
Sydney

Brief Answer:
Possible tonsillitis;please provide a photo of the lump...
Detailed Answer:
Hi Sydney,
I have gone through your medical history carefully and before giving a more precise answer, I need to have a look at the lump myself. Can you please provide a photo of your throat?
I noticed that you have taken Coldeze cough drops which makes me think you went through a common cold recently?
Did you notice the lump before or after getting cold?
The lump you noticed is suggestive for enlarged/inflammated/infected tonsils. The photo will provide more details.
Thank you!
