Is Pelvic And Breast Examination Required For Diagnosing Parkinson's Disease?
Question: I am supposed to see a neurologist in a couple of weeks to be tested for Parkinson's Disease. My question is,Will there be any reason for him to do a pelvic exam or any testing in the pelvic region? I have a preference when having these types of exams for only Female Doctors. This includes annual breast exams. I have done some research and most places I went to say no. A couple said yes. If you could help me with a definitive yes or no I would be most appreciative.Th e Doctor is a Male that my Cardiologist wants me to see and I may need to find a Female Doctor YYYY@YYYY
Brief Answer:
Pelvic examination would not be required.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
Pelvic examination or any testing would not be required by the Neurologist, while evaluating for Parkinson's disease. Also, breast examination would also be not needed.
So, you can proceed with your appointment with the male neurologist.
I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.
