How common will these procedures be in the near future?
Brief Answer:
It is unlikely to be common .
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for follow up.
The surgery of penis transplant is more difficult than surgery of heart or kidney transplant due to the artery of penis being very small in diameter posing lot of difficulties in restoring blood circulation to the penis which is the prime requirement in surgery of penis implant in order to have adequate blood flow to erectile tissue to achieve hard erection .
The first successful surgery took 9 hours for team of many surgeons .
Looking at the cost and technicality it is unlikely to be common in near future.
Thanks and Regards.
