Is Persistent Pain After A Fall Indicative Of Ligament Injury?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
I don’t know how the question involving Chinese lady got on my page, nothing to do with my question.
I wanted to add that I’m an avid cyclist, usually riding 125-150 miles a week.
I rode around parking lot a couple days after falling on concrete as I was getting out of my truck. I pedaled as easy as possible and had some pain when left knee reached highest position. I think that and moving lower leg to right and left cause most pain. Could I even walk with torn tendon
I also was curious to know if I could have pulled hamstring and possibly strained knee also. Left hamstring has almost no strength
Recommended to follow up with your primary provider
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Since your pain has been persistent since the fall, there is the definite possibility of underlying ligament or meniscal injury. However, joint examination and imaging studies like MRI are required for identifying ligament or meniscal tear.
Pain and weakness in hamstrings you are noticing can be due to muscle sprain or knee injury.
Actually, it's not possible to give you a definite answer without a complete evaluation of the injured region. So please be advised to follow up with your primary care provider.
Meanwhile, avoid strenuous activities. You can use a knee brace to stabilize the knee and take Advil 400 mg 3 times daily after some food for pain.

I don’t have insurance as it increased to over 1200.00$ monthly just for me.
You can look for local free clinics or go to the emergency room
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
There would not essentially be any presence of bruising even if there is an underlying tear. Underlying ligament and meniscal tear can present with just pain and swelling.
If insurance is a problem you can check out local free community clinics in your area. If that is not an option, you can go to the emergency room.
Also, take adequate rest and use knee brace (which you can buy at low cost in local pharmacies) to stabilize the knee. Keep the affected leg elevated when sitting and lying down. You can also apply ice to decrease the swelling.

I’m about to close out this ,how much will I be charged totally???
Initial management with physiotherapy can be tried
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
The decision to undergo surgery will depend on several factors like level of pain, how much your activity is limited and the degree of tear seen in MRI scanning.
Initially, physiotherapy can be tried. If physiotherapy alone is able to stabilize your knee, then surgery is not required.
