Is Pregnancy Advisable Immediately After Stopping Birth Control Pills?

Question: Hi!
Is it safe to try to get pregnant the first month off of the birth control pill? Why would someone advise waiting a month? Is that just for more accurate dating or is there an increased risk if you get pregnant the first month off?

Hello and welcome to HCM. Thanks for writing in to us with your health query.There is no risk in getting pregnant within one month of pregnancy just the chances of twin pregnancies are more. Just to clarify my question was is it safe within a month of getting off birth control. Not after pregnancy.
