Hi...thanks for your reply.
So what should i do now in order to prevent pregnancy. Is ipill a safe option? Would it have further effects on my menstrual cycle. I am concerned because i have pcos and have irregular periods.
For your information my regestron course is goin to end in two days. So if i have an ipill today when should i expect my periods.
Also suggest any other alternatv contraceptive if you feel ipill is not suitable. Thanks

Brief Answer:
i-pill is a safe option.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for follow-up query.
i-pill is a safe option for emergency contraception and has virtually no long term side effects. It is to be taken preferably within 12 hours and no later than 72 hours of unprotected intercourse.
i-pill might cause your next period to come early or later than normal.
But if your periods are delayed by more than a week or so, you should go in for a pregnancy test and consult your gynecologist.
Hope this answers your query satisfactorily.
Feel free to ask further.

So wouldnt it cause a great hormonal disbalance as i am already taking regestrone for the last 18 days or so...and on top of that can i now have ipill?
Brief Answer:
hormonal imbalance possible but no long term side-effects.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome again.
There would be hormonal imbalance due to i-pill. However, there are no long term imbalances. It is mostly just for one cycle.
And considering its efficacy as emergency contraceptive and no long term side-effects, it is the best choice for you in my opinion.
You can take i-pill now. The efficacy will depend on how much time has passed after you had unprotected intercourse. It is most efficacious when taken within 12 hours and not later than 72 hours. But it can be taken up to 120 hours (5 days) after intercourse.
Hope this addresses your concerns satisfactorily.
I would be glad to help if you have more queries.
I wish you good health.
Take care.
Thanks.
