Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking I-pill?

Question: Hi , I had unprotected sex on the 30th July, last period was on 23 July and lasted five days. I took an ipill in three hours and did not experience any bleeding after. My next period was expected on 16 Aug , but its 6 days late now . I took four hpt on 19 , all negative. What are the chances of me being pregnant.
Brief Answer:
wait for a week if pregnancy is ruled out.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to HCM,
If the urine pregnancy tests have been negative after 6 days post missed periods then you are not pregnant and the menses may be delayed due to side effect of ipill itself. So just wait for a week more for allowing the menses to start else you may opt for a withdrawal bleed with progesterones.

To follow up, I got a beta hcg blood test yesterday, on 23 August and the result was < 2.39 mIU/ml. However I still haven't gotten my periods, 8 days late, and my last menstrual period was on 23 July as mentioned. My expected period was on the 16th August. Have I taken the test too early or is it reliable?

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
The serum beta hcg levels as on yesterday being less than 3mIU, rules out pregnancy totally. Beta hcg test is conclusive even after 8 days post last intercourse so the test done yesterday is reliable.
You may wait for a week more to allow the menses to resume naturally. If it does not resume then you may opt for a withdrawal bleed with progesterones to allow menses to resume.
The present delay in absence of pregnancy can be due to stress induced hormonal imbalances and should be temporary.
