Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking Plan-B Pill?
Brief Answer:
No,there is almost no chance of pregnancy
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
No, there is almost no chance of pregnancy. Plan b is very effective (~99%) if taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex.
However there might be a delay in her periods this time as Plan B can cause delay in periods without pregnancy.
Also please do not use Plan B everytime. Use OC pills regularly if condom breakage is a problem.

Not sure if my earlier follow up question was posted. As I mentioned in addition to you mnetioning about Plan B pill effectiveness, it would be great if we can more details in terms of what would be considered as Safe Days knowing that her cycle is varying between 22 to 25 days and her last period 1st day was 29-Nov and we had condom accident on 4-Dec which is essentially the 6th day of cycle. Is there any additional precaution we should follow to ensure that pregnancy does not happen.
Brief Answer:
safe days are before she ovulates
Detailed Answer:
Dear,
The safe days are before she ovulates i.e. 14 days before menses.
The 8th to 21st day of each menstrual cycle counting from first day is considered as fertile period or the UNSAFE period. Days other than this are considered SAFE, that is, the 1st-7th day of the cycle and then again from the 22nd to the 28th day.
But this may not exactly be correct for all women though. It depends on the length of their menstrual cycle. This calculation only holds good if the woman has a exact 28 day cycle or maybe slightly lesser than that. If the cycle is longer than that, it isn’t reliable.
Opting to have sex during the ‘safe period’ isn’t fool-proof though. Using condoms along with other contraceptive methods like the oral pills are advised to prevent unwanted pregnancies.
So you have to back calculate.
It is highly unlikely that on 4th december she has ovulated so most probably she would not have conceived anyways.
Taking the pill has given her extra protection and their is no need of any other precautions other than using condom properly now till her menses or not having sex at all.
You can start her on regular OC pills from the next cycle.
