Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking Plan-B?

default
Posted on Mon, 15 Jun 2015
Question: I had brief (<30seconds) of unprotected sex (or just brief penetration) with my boyfriend three days ago. Found out I was in my fertile window. Took Plan B as a precaution 18 hours later. There was no ejaculation, and according to him, he wasn't even close. We didn't even proceed after that brief moment. What are the chances that I may have gotten pregnant from that brief encounter?

Brief Answer:
The chances of pregnancy are very low.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,

Thanks for trusting us about your health care.
I can understand your concerns.
I have gone through your history and in my opinion the chances of pregnancy are very low in your case as you had I-pill with in time and there was no penetration.
So do not take any stress and wait for your menses.
Hope it is useful, feel free to discuss more information.
Good luck.

Just to clarify--there was penetration. Just for less than 30 seconds. It was quickly stopped. I didnt notice or feel and semenal fluids. Just wasnt sure about pre-ejaculatory fluids and how potent those could be. Especially during fertile window. Thanks .

Brief Answer:
The chances are less.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,

Sorry for the delay in my response.
As such pre- ejaculation may contain sperm and cause pregnancy but as you had plan -b with in 24 hrs.( 18 hrs) it can protect you almost 96%.
Hope it is useful.
Good luck.

Thank you for your help. Im very concerned as i am not entirely sure how Plan B works during ovulation timing. Im not sure if it is a very likely situation in general, getting pregnant after very brief intercourse and apparently no semenal fluids. Even if I took Plan B during potential ovulation...
