Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking Unwanted-72?
Question: Hello doctor .
I have a period related question , My girlfriend was on her first day of her her periods (17 july) when we had unprotected sex. I never ejaculated or anything but after 6 hours just to be sure , she had an morning pill "unwanted 72" (18 july) . Her period stopped after few hours of taking the pill and remained that way for around 4-5 hours . After that her period started back again with heavy flow . The main prob is that today is 23 and still there is equal amount of flow . she is experiencing some weakness today . Its 7 days and there is no sign of her period stopping . Please suggest .

The stopping of bleeding followed by a heavy bleeding is due to the effect of high dose hormonal pill- Unwanted 72. It causes such hormonal disturbances and a withdrawal bleeding. Usually the bleeding subsides in 5-7 days. In case there is passage of heavy clots and she has to use more than 3 pads per day then it is best to consult a gynecologist and get hormonal pills and tranexaemic acid prescribed to stop the bleeding.
