Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking Oral Contraceptive?

emergency contraception and delayed withdrawal
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to hcm,
Firstly taking duoloton-l , 4 pills daily before sex each night for 4 days as you have taken was not recommended at al, This would have unnecessarily increased your progesterone levels in the body and caused delayed withdrawal . However, as you were in your safe period during intercourse, there was actually no requirement of the same firstly, and now again today you have taken it ( 4 pills ) again as emergency contraception.
Rest assured that you are not going to be pregnant as simply your ovulation would not have occurred during this cycle at all, but to allow your withdrawal bleed to occur you must wait for 5-7 days at least. In your case this may be delayed by another 3-5 days, possibly. So don't take any more medication and wait for a menstrual withdrawal bleed.
If you are anxious then earliest you can check for pregnancy would be 8 days post last intercourse with a lab based serum beta hcg test, which can easily rule out pregnancy and then you can safely wait for your menses to return.
So hence just wait for a week for your menses to restart with the withdrawal bleed.

Detailed Answer:
Its fine even if he was unprotected as you did not ovulate and hence chances of fertilisation are negligible. So rest assured. Just wait hence for your withdrawal bleed and don't take any more pills. Avoid any sexual activity till withdrawal.
