Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking Oral Contraceptive?
Question: i had an sexual intercourse on 12 th day after periods, and taken ipill as emergency contraceptive pill after half an hour of intercourse. for an additional measure now taking meparate 10mg two times a day. is there anychance of pregnancy ?
Brief Answer:
Very low chance of pregnancy
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. I pill, if taken within 24 hours of unprotected intercourse, is efficacious in preventing the pregnancy in 95-98% cases.
However, Meprate (medroxyprogesterone) has no role in preventing the pregnancy, neither it has any contraceptive effect.
The chances of pregnancy are low, however not zero, as i pill is not 100% effective in all cases.

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
1. No, meprate has no effect on the action of i pill.
2. I would suggest you to wait for the periods, if delayed, then you should do get a urine pregnancy test to confirm the diagnosis. Pregnancy can be confirmed only once you miss the period.
3. If pregnancy has occurred by now, you cannot prevent it. However, if the urine pregnancy test is positive on missing the periods, then you can terminate the pregnancy by medical method.

1. doctor so why this brown discharge and very minor bleeding occurs ? why it happens ?
Brief Answer:
Initial phase of withdrawal bleeding
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
The withdrawal bleeding always starts with brown discharge due to shedding of the superficial layers of the uterine lining, and it will gradually lead to average blood flow like periods.
It generally takes 2-3 days for the good blood flow to occur.
