Is Pregnancy Possible Through Intercourse A Day After Menstruation?
Question: I had a anal sex with my wife today.her periods had just finished yesterday. Sperm did spread a bit on her near anus but my not sure about vagina but we washed it immediately at that moment.also keeping underwear on we had some time...my underware was wet..... does she need an ipill
Brief Answer:
Unlikely
Detailed Answer:
HI.
I am Dr Mittal.
I have read your message.
The fact remains that pregnancy occurs if the sperm has entered the vagina.
In your case, it seems that the sperm has been at the anal region and the skin around it.
Please do correct me if the above assumption is correct.
Since it has not entered the vulva and cervix, it is unlikely to be significant.
Besides, since she has just finished her menses yesterday, she is unlikely to be in the fertile period- the ovum is released 14 days after end of bleeding usually.
Therefore, I don't think pregnancy is likely.
Best of luck.

thank you for the reply...but I had expected the answer from gynecologist..... shall she take an ipill.... so you mean to say that all we had didn't let sperm get into her vagina and it safe ...right....awaiting for your reply
Brief Answer:
No need
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your response.
I won't recommend ipill as of now.
As I said, your sperm has not entered the female reproductive tract.
more importantly, there was no ova in the tract.
You told me she just finished the bleeding phase of menses 1 day prior to intercourse. As I said , in this case female part of the reproductive cell, the ovum was not there.
So she is safe.
As for the gynecology specialist you needed to enter a specialist query. Having said that, I am quite sure this advice is fine.
Best of luck.

thank you doctor for that pure advice....appreciate it.....just one thing more to be certain...... I am 90 percent sure that sperm didnot touch her vagina when it driiped out her anus and I did clean it immediately after which she went to washroom and pushed it out cleaned vagina and anus with force water.....plus what out touch with vagina when my underwear was wet and on....also she had her underwear on.....that should resolve it.....waiting for your response.....thank you

Information and suggestions
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Recieved your response.
First, for pregnancy, ovum and sperm, both are needed. As I already said, ovum is not possibly present if she has been bleeding one day prior to intercourse.
Second, with clothes on, it is highly unlikely that sperm would cross over.
Lastly, you are certain no sperm entered her vaginally.
So I think you need not worry about pregnancy.
I would suggest use of female condom's if you like in future. Only thing, make sure they don't remain in place beyond the duration of intercourse. The exact duration for removal varies with the brand and is usually mentioned on the packs .They usually contain a spermicide and are safer if you intend to avoid pregnancy.
Best of luck, Dr Mittal.
