Is Pregnancy Possible Through Intercourse After Assumed Ovulation Dates?
Question: Hi..I have undergone the IUI treatment for that I've taken recogan 200 mg from day 2 to day 9 of my period. My gyn said that my ovaries were hyper stimulated with many follicles. I have given fertigyn to egg rupture on day 10. On day 12 the day of IUI my husband not able to take semen sample but we had intercourse on day 10 and 11so gyn said that it's k there is chance for getting conceove and prescribed susten 200 and duphaston from day 16 to 25. My husband's sperm count is 39million and motility 30% I feel abdominal cramps and sore breasts and tightening feel in stomach so I just want to know is there any chance to getting pregnant and we had intercourse from day 12 to 16 as my gyn suggested.

- You seem to have ovulation around 12th day of this cycle. The mature ovum expelled at that time is viable for 2-3 days from the date. & sperms when enter vagina can survive for about 3-4 days in vagina So possibility of conception is roughly 3 days before & 3 days after the ovulation.
you had sex on day 10, 11Th & again from day 12th to 16th So you had sex in most fertile days of the month.
- The semen analysis of your husband seems to have sufficient values to cause pregnancy.
- You must have undergone other investigations while you approached for conception treatment. And as you doctor had planned for IUI.. your Fallopian tubes seem to be patent.
* Though to conception involves a complicated process & it's said to be a god's gift...Taking in consideration all above factors, you had tried in time & I can say ,you have good chances of conception this time.
*Don't be excited .Be composed & positive .Avoid physical/ psychological stress
wait till it's 8 days delay from your last menstrual date .. when you can confirm pregnancy by HPT.
Earlier confirmation can be by blood HCG test around the expected date of menses.

Thank you so much mam its really helpful and feel ok. My gyn told that my ovaries are hyper stimulated so i need to take rest. I feel mild pain in abdomen and breasts . is this normal or any issues regarding hyper stimulation

- In hyper stimulation this pain is at the site of ovary & all over abdomen . Is associated with abdominal bloating/ increased waist size. Also there are other associated symptoms like nausea/ vomiting/ diarrhea.
* as your pain in abdomen is mild.. nor you have any other signs, it's mild effect of hyper stimulation / early conception.
Please don't be tense. Just observe the signs. If you find other signs ( narrated above ).. you should consult your doctor soon... so as to facilitate it's management.
Take bed rest as per your doctor's advise / do not massage or foment abdomen.. Be positive & attentive.
- breast pain can be as an effect of the hormone given to you (susten 200 ) & also as an early sign of pregnancy.
I have specifically explained in detail to remove stress/ tension from your mind.At this stage, to be tension free & positive is important for you.
