Is Pregnancy Possible Through Intercourse After Taking An I-pill?

Safe for now but avoid frequent intake
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, thanks for trusting health care magic.
I understand your anxiety related to the issue.
Ipill is basically an emergency contraceptive pill with high dose of progesterone and thus helps in avoiding pregnancy effectively.
But as I said it is an emergency contraceptive pill it should not be taken everytime you guys indulge in sexual activity as it has certain inherent side effects.
For instance in short term it can cause nausea, breast tenderness, abdominal bloating and in the long run it can cause irregular periods for a a couple of months.
But most dangerous is tubal ectopic pregnancy which is a surgical emergency and is seen in increased percentage in patients using ipill very often.
So for now its alright and will prevent pregnancy but in future either indulge in protected sex or ask her to start oral pills as a method of regular contraception.
Take care
Regards
Dr Manisha
