Question: Hello Doctor,
We had unprotected sex just 2 days after the end of ther 6 days period cycle..(16th to 22nd was her period, we had unprotected sex on 24th) but immediately after the intercourse she had a ipill ( in an hour or two) . It was her first time for using a contraceptive pill, she is all panic and stressed out. Can you please help us with 1.what is the possibility of failure of ipill even after consuming ?2. i heard tht girls bleed after using ipill, so when will she bleed as she has just ended her cycle 2 days ago.3.is there any other to thing to be done?4 .when will we be surr that she is not pregnant?
Please help us. She is all panic and stressed out...i am afraid her stress might not delay her period..
Please help us...

Brief Answer:
The chances of pregnancy are quite low.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thanks for trusting hcm about your health care.
I have gone through your history and understand your concerns.
The chances of pregnancy is almost not there in your case.
Withdrawal bleeding usually occurs within a week after i-pill intake.
Either she is pregnant or not it can only be confirmed after her expected period date.
She should not take any stress because failure rate is almost nil.
Hope found useful, feel free to ask more information.
Good luck.

Thanks a lot fir the reply. It is very helpful, but i hav few more confusion it will be great if u clear them.
Will she bleed within the week ? Even after she had her regular period a week prior taking ipill.
Today is 4th day after consumption of ipill ,but she hasnt bleeded yet.according to you bleeding in one week after ipill is exact of time may increse.Till how many more days we shud wait or shud she take any other medicine.
You told
Either she is pregnant or not it can only be confirmed after her expected period date.
You mean the expected period is the one which comes with in a week after ipill consumption or the regular which will come on 17th January around.(as she had her regular around 17th December)
This is a bit confusion.
She is all stress and so am i. Can you please give some concrete reply if pissible in our case , which can relive our tension, as this is the first time we are in it..
Hope things work well.
Thanks a lot.

Brief Answer:
The chances of pregnancy are almost negligible.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
You are most welcome.
Here are the answer of your questions -
Actually withdrawal bleeding is only a side effect and can occur within a week but it is not necessarily occur in every case.
Expected period date is 17th January not bleeding within a week.
She can wait 7 days after her missed period date that is 17th January(24th January).
Though as you had sex on 2 days after her bleeding stop, the chances are almost negligible.
Hope now your doubt is clear and if it is so and you want to close the discussion kindly accept my answer before closing it.
Thanks.
Good luck.
