Is Pregnancy Possible When Ultrasound Shows Unruptured Egg?
Question: My dr gave me siphene 50 from 3rd day of my periods and hcg injection on day 7th day and suggested to sex on 8th night. As per advise we had sex on 8th night and 9th morning. As per sonography on 9th egg not yet ruptured. Is there chances of pregnancy. Nt able to have sex after tht

Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.Ovulation and rupture of follicle usually occurs usually7 days after the clomiphene intake.
Injection hCG is also given to assist ovulation on day 13-14 or when the follicle size reaches18-20 mm.
There is no rationale of giving hCG on day 7 as it will never cause ovulation.
I will suggest you to get a follicular study done to assess the growth of the follicle and to see whether spontaneous ovulation occurs or hCG is required.
Pregnancy cannot be detected so early in the cycle.

If the follicle has not ruptured and there is no ovulation, then there are almost nil chances of pregnancy.
However, if the ovulation occurs in next2-3 days, there, then there are slight chances of pregnancy as the sperm remains alive in vagina for4-5 days.

On 7th day my follicle size was 20mm that's why dr gave hcg injection please guide is there possibility of pregnancy in my case. My ovulation is early in every month i.e around 8 - 10 th day of period
