Is Pregnancy Possible When With Surgical Clips Near Adnexa?
Question: I have 2 surgical clips on my right side. they are by my right adnexa. I don't have any on my left side. Can I still get pregnant?
Brief Answer:
Yes.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,welcome to HCM forum.
You have not mentioned why you had a selective clipping on right side.
Anyhow, our left and right ovaries ovulates alternatively in each cycle. So even if one side is ligated/clipped,the other side will work properly and you can still be pregnant, though comparatively more number of attempts may be needed.
Hope this will answer your query.
If you have further questions,I will be happy to help.
Thank you.
Yes.

I didn't know that I had only been clipped on 1 side. I had a CT pelvic scan and that is what it said in the report. I thought that I had a tubal ligation after my 2nd c-section back in 2008. I just had the CT scan last week. I was told to follow up with an OBGYN because I have a 3 cm growth on my left adnexa. They're not sure if it is a cyst or not.
Brief Answer:
Need further evaluation.
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
Thanks for following up.
It can be possible that, one side is clipped and the other side is ligated with suture materials(invisible in CT).Sometimes this is done because of some technical difficulties during sterilization.
Rarely we do clipping on one side only, leaving the other side free, unless there is some indication like ectopic.
Anyhow, now we need a followup with your gynec(preferably with the one who had done the procedure) to evaluate the mass.Kindly get an appointment.
Wishing you good health.
Thank you.
