Is Pregnancy Possible While On Birth Control Pills?

Question: I just switched from Yaz to a higher estrogen dose combination pill, without any break. I have been on the pill for years, have not missed any since my last sugar week (3+ weeks ago) and even before that period week I do not remember ever missing any recently. My boyfriend and I used a condom tonight and it broke, should I go get plan B tomorrow and take it just in case? Or am I ok with just my pill?

I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns today. It is good that you are taking pills regularly as prescribed. When you are using pills in this way they are more than 99% effective in preventing pregnancy. So there is no need to take Plan B.

If you wish 100% assurance then go ahead and take Plan B too. It may cause irregular period in this month. Other then that it does not cause any long term side effects.
