Question: Hi, my brother you will be70 this September is staying with me for the week while he works at xxxxxxxxxxx. He is a sports Physcologist. Last year he had a heart attack and had 7 stints in the arteries to his heart. Tonight he came home to my house, but couldn't find it. My Street is cut in halt by a medium strip. He was on one side, but couldn't work out how to get to the other side. I had to get him. Then we went out for tea and he had no idea where he had parked the car. I didn't say anything just led the way, and now he is all sweaty and has had another shower. I know it is warm, but I don't think that warm. Am I worrying unnecessary?

Brief Answer:
should be seen

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It would be best for him to be seen with a history of previous heart attacks and the need for stents.

That medical history implies that there is reduced blood supply in some of the blood vessels. In a heart attack, it is the blood vessels in the heart but in a stroke, it would be the blood vessels supplying blood to the brain.

Persons with a history of reduced circulation in the heart are also at risk of having reduced circulation in the brain.

This means that he is at risk of a stroke. These can be mild in some cases and only associated with a change in behavior.

It is possible that it is not a mild stroke but it needs to be ruled out by imaging such as CT scan.

Other causes of altered behavior would be : (1) infection- usually would have to be severe
(2)trauma- imaging would still be helpful here
(3)dehydration and electrolyte disorders
(4)low blood sugar

On assessment, his doctor would examine his physically and may also do the imaging mentioned.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
