Posted on Tue, 2 Feb 2016
Question: Hello doctor, i had checked my vitamin d levels last year and it was 12ng/ml.I had taken 2000iu vitamin d, every day for 30 days somewhat during the year. And now when i had checked it last month it's 32ng/ml.I checked it again today and it is 35 ng/ml. This is with zero sun exposure as am indoors all the time. And no supplements. Is the increase in levels so rapidly normal? Or is it something to be worried of.

Brief Answer:
Normal

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

The improvement is rapid and normal. This is expected to increase the levels within a months time. At the same time you should continue the Vitamin D supplements as usual. You (most indians) need a maintainence dose of at least 1500IU/day and if this is not generated by Sun exposure, you should take it via supplements.

So strongly suggest you to continue for 3 months and test it. It would not XXXXXXX you with large numbers. so all these days it just corrected.

Is there anything else I can explain you?
