Question: I am worried. I am 48 and seem to be becoming less tolerant of alcohol every time I drink. I only had 1 1/2 beers an feel hammered. Horrible. Dizzy and sick. I don’t drink but maybe 1 month. A wedding or holiday. Can’t be scirross. What else.

From the available description there is good possibility that you may have elevated liver enzymes due to injury to liver. It is known complication of chronic alcohol use irrespective of amount taken. It can be said that effect on liver is different among different individuals and this is possible that your liver is more reactive to alcohol intake.

I must acknowledge that there are hundreds of causes of liver damage and this is possible that injury resulted from something else.

In my opinion you should talk to your doctor to get liver function test without delay.
