Is Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Curable?
It is curable if treatment is started early enough!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about this diagnosis that you have reported. I understand how difficult it can be dealing with pain on daily basis. What makes it difficult is the fact that others around you would find it difficult o understand with you when you report having severe pains because they seemingly see no real cause. This calls for resilience and great coping techniques to address this.
Reflex sympathetic syndrome is curable in a tiny proportion of client in whom treatment is started early. However, there are various treatment options available to help cope with pain symptoms. This consists of a combination of pain medications, physical therapy and coping strategies to your symptoms and the environment.
What works for one patient may not necessarily work for others. This is why it is important to work with your doctors providing feedback all the times to make sure that they continue to tailor treatment to your needs until they find what works best for you.
How have you been feeling since starting treatment? Has been any significant relief? what medications are you presently on?
I hope this helps. If you would love specifics about the treatment options, let me know as I didn't want to overwhelm you with this but allow your doctor to do so treating you. I hope to hear from you and feel free to request for more information and clarifications as need be. I will be more than happy to address any concerns that you may have related to this. I wish you well.

Hi and thank you so much for this follow up information.
The most common causes of this are trauma or following illness to this part of the body. Look back and see if any o these transpired at any time.
I have taken a look at the photographs and did so in the previous review with the first image. It shows that it is swollen and this would alternate between normal and such states. With the pains reduces and you feeling great after yoga,, I will suggest that you continue with the ongoing treatment. They are all medication and coping techniques used in the management of this condition.
The best doctors to see are neurologists and rheumatologists. For now, I suggest you stick with you physician and more so if you are feeling better than moving from one doctor to the other. This would help and continuity of care is a major element here.
I wish you well. Keep me posted on this.
