Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXX.
Is the patient having Diabetes?
The condition is known as emphysematous pylonephritis. Here one of the kidney is infected and destroyed because of bacteria. This kidney is unlikely to be functioning. But since this infection is very severe it may not resolve with medicines and may lead to risk of life. In such situation we can attempt to control infection with medicines, but if the clinical condition of patient does not show any improvement or there is worsening then operation to remove the kidney is the best way forward to save the patients life. This decision is based on the clinical judgement of the treating doctor.
The CT scan images are showing a severe disease.
i think if the treating doctor is convinced that he cannot control the infection with medicines then operation is the only way and should not be delayed.

Detailed Answer:
Charges will vary from centre to centre and type of surgery. Simple nephrectomy lap nephrectomy or radical nephrectomy. Cost would be around 60 to 70000 for lap nephrectomy to 100000 for more radical procedures.
But in your case cost will be more of infection control medicines or icu stay if needed.
