Is Renal Malignant Rhabdoid Tumor A Congenital Condition?

Is it a congenital or genetic condition?
Should I get pregnant again, is there a test that I or my husband can undergo to ascertain possibility if the subsequent children will have the same condition, or is there a test that can be performed on the newborn to check if he will suffer the same condition
Thanks

Yes there are some tests.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I understand your concerns.
Most of these cases are sporadic. However, some rare instances of familial cases are noted. Early-onset, multifocal disease and familial cases strongly support the possibility of a rhabdoid predisposition syndrome, where a child may have susceptibility from birth.
There is a gene called SMARCB which is mutated in most of these patients. But rarely this is inherited from parents. Parental screening should be considered, although such screening carries a low probability of positivity. Even if that is negative, we can do it on the newborn so that appropriate measures can be taken for early detection.
Hope this helps. I will be available for followup.
Regards
