Question: Dear Doctor,
Over the past, say, 20 years, I have taken at least 3 vaccinations for hepatitis B, but none of them produced any effect. I visited my local doctor,. who gave me three explanations:
[1] the medicine i used maybe expired
[2] my body has a resistance to the vaccination.
[3] some people will never respond to hepatitis B vaccacination.
I would appreciate your kind advice as if I should try one more time to do the
vaccination? or what else

Brief Answer:
Following causes to fail of hep.B vaccination
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thank you for providing the requested lab tests.
I need to know if you have any test reports 1 or 2 months after vaccination to compare the results?
Next, it is true that some people will never respond to vaccination, and sometimes, previous hepatitis infection which will produce only low dosage of HbsAg will also influence the vaccination success.
Usually, such individuals are considered as more susceptable to HBV, that's why they are advised to use HbIg each time exposed to infected blood.
Being older than 50 years old is making the vaccine ineffective (like in your case). While, smoking, drinking alcohol or obesity can also be another possible factors.
Hope it was of help!
