Is Right-sided Lower Abdominal Pain During Pregnancy A Cause For Concern?
If pain is persistent please go to the ER for assessment.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to Health Care Magic.
I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns.
Mild occasional cramps once or twice in a day is normal. Any pain more than this is not normal. Have you done your ultrasound? Is intrauterine pregnancy confirmed? If you have not done any ultrasound, the first thing to suspect is ectopic pregnancy ( pregnancy outside uterus usually in the Fallopian tube).
If intrauterine pregnancy is confirmed, the other reasons for pain are:
1. Ovarian cyst-
2. Appendix infection,
3. Stone in the ureter or urinary infection
4. Indigestion- A tablet of Hyoscine bromide should relieve the pain in this case.
5. Threatened miscarriage- It may sometimes start with just pain.
If pain is persistent please go to the ER for assessment. It is very important to exclude ectopic pregnancy.
I hope this is helpful. If you have further concerns, I will be happy to answer.
Best wishes,
Dr Rama
Please get an ultrasound done.
