Is Roseola Manifested By Discreet Rashes?
Question: Is a roseola rash always confluent or can it manifest as discreet spots?? Also, are enlarged tonsils with associated erythema sometimes also associated. XXXXXXX temp was 102. and began five days. Age of child is 9 mos.

Roseola does not always manifest with discreet rashes. Enlarged tonsils with associated erythema may sometimes be associated. But let me remark that there are a number of viral infections other than roseola that could manifest with similar presentations along with high rise of temperature. As of now, you need to keep the temperature in control by tepid sponging and paracetamol/acetaminophen. In the meantime, I would suggest you to take the child to a pediatrician and to get him evaluated.
