Is Sharp Abdominal Pain Symptomatic Of Gall Bladder?

Question: I have had on and off sharp upper right side abdominal pains just below my right rib cage along with heavy sweats, on and off recently, (which I contibuted those to post menopausal? even though they were worse than most I have been having)...But along with these symptoms, I have been getting really nauseated atleast 2-3 times during my days....they come and they go, but no vomitting. theis has all started less than 2 wks ago. Could this be my Gall Bladder?
Brief Answer:
Hi.You may need some investigations.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.Welcome to healthcaremagic.I understand your problem. My opinion is that,You need some investigations like ultrasound abdomen and pelvis to rule out the cause for the pain.Pain in the right side abdomen may be due to many resons. It may be due to problems in the gall bladder, liver, appendix etc.,So kindly consult your surgeon. He will ask you to do ultrasound abdomen and pelvis. After that only the cause for the pain can be ruled out.postmenopausal symptoms do not cause vomiting.Only abdominal problems are associated with vomiting and nausea.
Thank you.
