Is Shoulder Replacement Surgery Advisable While Having A Bladder Infection?

Question: I am scheduled for a shoulder replacement surgery 10/2. I think I may be getting a bladder infection. Would this be something that would cause the surgery to be delayed if I was to start medication for it today?
Brief Answer:
if responds to infection then it would be ok
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
Urinary tract infections normally resolve within a week if the bacteria is responsive to the antibiotics chosen.
The symptoms normally start to resolve before this week is complete though the antibiotic course should be completed.
There are some contraindications (reasons cannot be done) for surgery and they do include an active or severe infection but once your infection responds to the antibiotics (which happens for most persons), then you should be ok.
I hope this helps
