Brief Answer:
Not recommended.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
Although you can fast (not recommended) I would not speak in its favour, at least not without any liquids. Proper hydration is very important if you are breast feeding your baby and it is not advisable to make both yourself as well as the baby suffer.
In short, I would not recommend you to fast. Even if you do, it should not be without liquids.

Fluid intake would be essential.

I clearly understand your concerns. You can fast. But fasting without fluid intake would not be allowable. Unless you ensure a good amount of fluid intake, a sufficient milk supply cannot be ensured. I presume that you would not want to make the baby fast as well. The choice is yours.

Thank u so much dr. Definitely i wud nt du nythng wherein the baby has to suffer. Also my 2mnth old has got mild cough, what can be done?
Brief Answer:
Glad to be of service
Detailed Answer:
I am sure that you would have the best interests of your child in your consideration.
About the cough, I would insist you to give steam inhalation to your child. Just sit with your child on your lap and place the source of steam before you. The water vapour will be in the air and automatically the child will breathe it in. It will reach deep inside and would help in diluting the cough and would provide relief.
