Is Smoking Marijuana Advisable While On Fluconazole?
Question: Hi, what happens if I smoke marijuana while on Fluconozole. Is it okay to do?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Brief Answer:
No
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
It is not good to use Marijuana and Fluconazole at the same time. Fluconazole is a CYP2C9 inhibitor. Marijuana is metabolized by CYP2C9 pathway. So if you take both of them, Fluconazole will try to reduce the Marijuana metabolism and thereby increases its concentration by many fold.
You will have adverse effects and toxicity associated with Marijuana.
Hope this understanabale.
