Is Smoking Marijuana During Pregnancy Advisable?
Information
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
You just did something very good for your baby!
There is no way to speed up flushing it from your system, but with time your body will clear much of the marijuana out.
As you are already 35 weeks along, you aren't so much at risk for losing the baby preterm. You are nearly full term (at 36 weeks). If there were some reason you were to go into labor this week, babies at 35 weeks usually do very well.
My guess is that you have been smoking weed during your pregnancy to self treat anxiety rather than for a high. If this is true, the hard part is going to be to stay off of it. Replacing it with other things that you find calming such as meditation, relaxation tapes, mindfulness breathing, yoga, and exercise can help.
You are now in this for the long haul: the baby will be here soon and you don't want to expose her to marijuana through breast milk or in the air. So I recommend shifting your concern from what might have happened to how you can deal with stress now and after she is born without marijuana.
If you find you are very anxious without weed, talk with your doctor about the anxiety as your doctor may feel it is worthwhile to try some anti anxiety medications.
But I don't think you need worry about losing baby at this point if she is active and you are 35 weeks.
I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can help further.
Regarding cranberry and water
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
While cranberry juice and water, in moderation, won't hurt your or your baby, I really don't know if it will affect testing.
I don't know laws in different states.
Detailed Answer:
I'm sorry - I don't know the laws regarding CPS in the state that you live in. You could call them anonymously and try to find out their policy.
I'm in Wisconsin.
Detailed Answer:
Yes, I'm in Wisconsin - I don't know the laws in Nevada.
I doubt though, that CPS would remove a newborn baby from it's mother if you have quit.

Detailed Answer:
Well I found this:
http://www.babysfirsttest.org/newborn-screening/states/nevada
Unless the mother tested positive for drugs during pregnancy, or the baby is showing signs of drug withdrawal (which your baby won't be if you have stopped completely now), drug testing for marijuana is not part of the routine newborn blood screen in Nevada.
I also found this - scroll down to see the last attorney's statement:

So it does not look like you have to worry. But stay off of it now to decrease any risks.
Ok
