Is Spilling Of Few Drops Of T Mimic Syrup Into Nose A Serious Cause For Concern?
My baby is 4months old and my paed has advised t minic oral drops for cold. But,today accidentally few drops of t minic went into my baby's nose.Is there any danger in it?
There is no danger.
Detailed Answer:
Hi Madam XXXXXXX
I can understand your concern.
Fortunately the contents of T Minic drops are chlorphenamine maleate 2 mg, phenylephrine hydrochloride 5 mg / 5 mL. This is the concentration per 5 ml.
So a few drops of this medicines going into nose of your baby will not cause any problem for the nose or the baby at all. Both the chlorphenamine and phenylephrin are available as nasal spray and also used in eye drops.. They are absolutely safe and will cause nasal de-congestion although inadvertently.
This of course does not mean that you should instill T-minic in nose.
There will be only deconestions and opening of the nasal passage if it is blocked. Please take care next time while giving oral drops.
Please feel free to ask further if you need to.
Relax and do not worry.
Thank you very much. I am very much relieved with your answer. Also, initially I was advised to put "A-Z" and "D3 must" drops for my baby. But, later my paed switched to Visyneral instead of A-Z drops. So, can I still continue to put D3 drops along with Visyneral drops?
Continue and confirm with Ped In next visit.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your appreciation.
You can certainly continue D3 drops as it contains Vitamin D3, Both of the other Drops can have similar formulations. Confirm this with your pediatrician During the next visit.
Anyways, today's generation do not get early morning sun exposure which produces natural Vitamin D.
