Is Spo2 Reading Of 90 Normal?

Question: I am at 5000ft above sea level with sp02 reading of 90.. Is that normal? Heart rate at resting is 65 .

Brief Answer: hi and welcome to hcm Detailed Answer: Thanks for the query. generally spo2 at 5000m is considered to be normal if there is more than 90%. It can depend on pulse oximeter which is used and also on other factors such as physical activity,stress, temperature,part of the day,smoking etc. At this point,you dont have to be worried. Measure spo2 oftenly and if there is constantly less than 90 or you develop symptoms then visit pulmologist for further tests. Wish you good health,feel free to ask. Regards
